crazy, random & exciting life

What an interesting weekend... first of all the weather has been fantastic. This makes me very excited. 2nd of all.... this weekend went by way to fast, but was quite enjoyable... I guess it all started with Thursday night when a crew of us headed out to celebrate a friend finishing a big certification exam. He passed! woo! And we decided to head to the W hotel here in DC and enjoy the rooftop deck with the best views of the monuments and right next door to the white house. By the time we got upstairs I was a wee bit tipsy (or perhaps very tipsy:P) but it was so much fun! On Fri night, i had a work dinner that involved trying to hit the minimum at the restaurant and me and my boss drinking much more than i had anticipated, but enjoying it all just the same. I also ate wayyyy too much pizza at the restaurant but it was quite delightful!

Saturday morning I had to work the all new nation's tri clinic series, which was great. I honestly don't mind working these types of events because I actually walk away learning a good deal of info to improve my triathlon skillz. After work, AA, MC and I headed out to Ashburn, VA to some good ole gun shooting on the range hahaahah ... it was first and foremost REDONK.

this was crazy. none of us knew what we were doing, and when we walked into the range, one of the other people there just started firing away in his lil section and i think we all jumped 8 times, every time he fired. it was so freaky! But after a few shots of our own, we felt ok!! :) haha it was too hilarious, and super exhilarating. We each fired 3 or 4 rounds. My first time of each round I had a huge outburst of either "holy Sh**! or "mother f***er!" or any such curse word. i jumped each time! thanks livingsocial :)

post guns, we went to neilson's in vienna for some home made frozen custard ... so delicious!

I came back from all this and went for a nice run.. the weather was perfect, and took it easy the rest of the night.

Sunday morning I got up early, and headed out to herndon to get a 2 hour bike ride on the w&od trail. It was perfect weather, the trail wasn't too crowded, and i felt really great. it made me excited for the philly tri in two weeks. can't believe it's almost here.

after the bike ride, i met up with sdugs back in dc. SDugs is leaving DC in just over two weeks to head north for a good job opportunity. with my work event this weekend and the race in two weekends, this was the only weekend i could show her a good time. we decided to road trip up to baltimore since we had not been up that way since she moved down. the plan was to go enjoy the harbor, head to a local mexican joint for some nachos, hopefully see alli, and head back. ooo no... this lil sunday afternoon turned into quite an experience.

first as soon as we pulled into bmore it decided to downpour like the floodgates of heaven had opened. of course we decided to park and run out into the street. good plan!! :P haha we got totally soaked, and arrived at the mex restaurant looking like we had been through the plaque. was quite hysterical. i called up my old pal who happened to live near by and he stopped by with 2 of his friends. this lovely meal of nachos turned into about 5 beers, a margarita, more food, and me and shannon laughing so hard we cried - about 3 times. This lead to us heading to another bar which included two capt and gingers for me, two creepy dudes hitting on shan, and the b rescuing us. we ended up leaving bmore at about 1145 at night... struggling... yes...

my dreams last night involved two people coming into my apt in the middle of the night... it felt so real and was so creepy but i woke up this morning knowing it had to be a dream... right? who even knows... all i know is that this weekend was random, unexpected and a total blast.

it's gotten my head spinning on a few different levels... one of them being that i know i need to update the nacho blog. i'll get better with staying on track.. i promise. the other levels of my head spinning we'll save for another post. til then... i'll keep on training, eating and livin this crazy, random life! :)
